Where to find suitable fabric?

Hello! I just purchased the men's and women's TNG jumpsuit patterns and they came with three little samples of fabric. I was impressed with the quality and came here to see if it was available for purchase but nothing is listed in the ‘fabric and trim' section.

Does anyone have specific fabric brand or suppliers they've used and would recommend? Thank you so much! I'm going to try and whip these out for Halloween this year!

My first big sewing project, other than mending, since making dresses for high school dances. Wish me luck!

HAHA. Well, I just found your blog entry on STCG about fabric sourcing that asks people not to message about fabrics sooooo I will chase down those leads and see what I can find.

Haha, no problem! Thank you for your pattern order!

I'm still developing dye recipes for everyone interested, but “Starbase375logistics” on Etsy offers excellent jumbo spandex in TNG division colors:

The red and gold swatches are from there. The teal is something I custom-dyed a year or two ago, but SB375L has since begun offering a very close color as well.

(Do note that the teal is matched to a uniform from later in the series, but the earlier teal is quite different. I occasionally do small batches of the early teal – a few yards here and there – but am working on a better long-term solution.)

    Happy sewing! 🙂
