As you probably know, Star Trek costumes are my thing.

My “Star Trek Costume Guide” blog has a growing number of FREE resources for everyone interested in learning about and/or making their own Star Trek costumes:

    http://www.startrekcostumeguide.com

    These sewing/costuming resources currently include:

    • Screen-used costume examinations and “video tours”
    • Free sewing pattern downloads
    • Costume analyses
    • Sewing tutorials

    Additional planned resources will include:

    • Dye recipes for screen-used color matches
    • Recommended material sources
    • Topical blog posts
    • Topical video presentations
    • Updated older analyses and tutorials*

My STCG blog is a long-term work-in-progress, in which I plan to eventually cover ALL the (pre-2009) uniforms and uniform eras.

My current focus is the TNG-era uniforms, but I'll be expanding into other uniform eras very soon. 🙂

    * Prior to starting this STCG blog, I wrote loads of DS9/NEM, VOY, and ENT-era analyses and tutorials, most of which are still floating around the Internet. Once I conclude the TNG-era uniform projects, I’ll be updating all those older resources and moving them to their new home on the STCG blog.

If you're interested in Star Trek costumes, there's already a lot to read and watch, with LOTS more coming soon.

Hi Alex! I came across your work when trying to find a good pattern for the Voyager Duty Jacket. Your research is incredible and has been a treat to read.

I wanted to leave a comment and ask about the availability of your older patterns. It appears that while the research and instructions for the Voyager jacket are available online, there is no way to purchase the pattern itself. I know that you are currently working on the TNG costumes and will be getting to the older patterns in due time, but is it possible to somehow get my hands on the older version of that pattern?

    All the best!
