So i bought the pattern a while ago for the male TNG jumpsuit. It took me a while to figure out the measurements for the pattern. But tomorrow i will finally buy the fabric and sewing feet.

Any tips for a first time sewer who hasnt done anything besides hand stitching pillows?

Im planning to keep this entry updated on my progress, since i want to finish this september 🙂

TNG jumpsuit is an ambitious first project! Ordinarily I'd suggest starting with something easier and working up to this, but you sound like you're wanting to do this one, so I wish you the best. 🙂

I definitely suggest making one (or two, or three) practice jumpsuits first to get the hang of things before cutting into your proper fabric.

    Happy sewing! 🙂

I just bought the fabric today! And yes, i bought some (really ugly) cheap spandex fabric so i can make a mock-up.

Finding the right colors was a struggle for sure though.

Now i just need to figure out where to print the pattern and then we are ready to go. \(-ㅂ-)/ ♥ ♥ ♥

After a Mockup version were i figured out the pattern is way to big for me i made some adjustments. Some seams are still a bit weird. But hopefully i can correct them with some handsewing once everything is assembled!

I am already so proud how far i got in one single sitting. (On the final version)

I am totally con-crunching btw. Gotta finish within the next few days.

I am so incredibly excited for the final result!

It is finished! After many trials and fails, i have a full jumpsuit assembled. I had to jump trough some hoops. No braided piping at any sewing store near me, not enough time till the con to order online (i used braided yarn), the pattern being way to big for me (i basically sewed the Mock-Up smaller until it fit me, so now some seams dont match)

    But it is finished.

Sure if anyone who knows their stuff looks closer, they will see a lot of faults.

But for me, this is enough (for now!). I will probably redo some seams in the future, redo the zipper to actually be invisible at some point.

But I managed to finish my first ever sewing project one week before the Convention i want to wear it at.

And that makes me quite proud.

The instruction video was honestly a blessing. And i could not have done this without it. So Thank you Alex 🙂

TNG jumpsuit as a first-ever sewing project under con crunch sounds incredibly stressful, but I'm glad you made it and got to experience some corresponding satisfaction! Congratulations! 🙂
